Overview
LedgerSync now includes a Notes feature on bank account connections. This allows your entire team to leave and read notes directly on any bank account connection — creating a shared, visible message board for that account.
Notes are not a support channel or live chat. They are a place to document important context about a specific bank connection so your whole team stays informed.
When working across a team of bookkeepers and accountants, important details about a bank connection can get lost in emails, Slack messages, or verbal conversations. The Notes feature centralizes that information right where it matters — on the connection itself.
Your team can document connection issues, known bank limitations, client-specific instructions, and anything else that would help a colleague who opens that account later. LedgerSync will also post notes there when we identify known issues or limitations with a specific bank or account type.
Example 1 — LedgerSync posts a note about a known issue
A PNC connection was failing for a client. After investigation, our team discovered the bank's site was displaying in Spanish, which is not fully supported. Rather than leaving your team wondering why the connection was breaking, we posted a note directly on that connection explaining the cause.
Example 2 — LedgerSync posts a note about bank limitations
Chase does not support statement access for all account types. Loan accounts, investment accounts, and Chase "Business Checking" accounts (which are technically money market accounts) are not eligible for statement access per Chase's policy. We post notes like this so your team knows the limitation is on the bank's end — not a connection error.
Example 3 — Your team posts notes for each other
Your bookkeepers can leave notes for colleagues on any bank connection. For example:
There is no limit to how many notes can be added. Over time, this builds a shared knowledge base of account-specific context that every team member can access.
Notes are visible to all team members who have access to that client in LedgerSync. Administrators and employees alike can both read and add notes.
