Bank Connection Notes — How to Add Shared Notes to a Bank Connection

Notes
Overview
The Notes feature lets you attach persistent, shared notes to any bank connection in LedgerSync — whether it is connected via Mastercard, MX, or FDE (document-based extraction). Notes are visible to all users in your firm and are a great way to record context about a connection that would otherwise only exist in email threads or private conversations.

What You Can Use Notes For

  • Recording that a bank’s online portal is only available in Spanish (which may affect automated extraction)
  • Noting that a client’s bank requires a phone call to generate their MFA token
  • Tracking that a specific account is shared between two client entities
  • Flagging a connection that has recurring stability issues for follow-up
  • Leaving context for other team members who may work on this client later

Where Notes Are Stored

Notes are attached to a specific bank connection (not to a transaction or statement). They are visible from the Bank Summary page for the relevant client and account.

How to Add a Note

  1. Select the client from the left panel
  2. Navigate to the Bank Summary page for the relevant bank account
  3. Find the Notes section (typically near the connection details)
  4. Click Add Note
  5. Type your note and click Save

How to Edit or Delete a Note

  1. Navigate to the Notes section on the bank summary page
  2. Click the note you want to edit or delete
  3. Click Edit to modify the text, or Delete to remove it
  4. Confirm your action

Searching Notes

All notes across all connections are searchable. You can find notes using the search functionality in the Notes list, sorted by most recently updated. Notes are scoped to the correct client — notes for one client are never visible in another client’s account.

Notes from LedgerSync Support

When LedgerSync Support adds a note to one of your bank connections (for example, during a troubleshooting session), that note is labeled "LS Support" as the author instead of showing your firm’s name. This makes it easy to distinguish internal firm notes from notes left by the LedgerSync team.
