Cloud Storage Connection Health Alerts

Cloud Storage Connection Health Alerts

Overview

LedgerSync keeps your statements, transactions, and check images syncing automatically to your connected cloud storage account (Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, SharePoint, or SmartVault). We're rolling out connection health alerts so you can see right away if a sync needs your attention, instead of finding out only when a file is missing.

What this means for you: If a cloud storage sync fails for a reason you need to fix, your Cloud Storage page will show a clear warning instead of a normal "Connected" status.

Why a Sync Can Fail Even Though the Connection Looks Fine

Most sync issues are not about your login — they're about the destination. The most common cause is that the folder LedgerSync is trying to save files to is no longer reachable, usually because it was:

  • Deleted
  • Renamed or moved
  • Un-shared or had its permissions changed

In these cases, your account credentials still work, so nothing looks broken on the surface — but new files can't be delivered.

How You'll Know

When LedgerSync detects a sync failure that needs your action, the Cloud Storage page will show:

  1. A status flag next to the affected connection
  2. A short, plain-language reason for the failure
  3. The date of the most recent failed sync

What To Do When You See a Warning

  1. Open the Cloud Storage page from the Tools menu
  2. Check the reason shown next to the affected connection
  3. If the destination folder was moved, renamed, or deleted, recreate it or update your folder mapping under Client Management → Manage → Cloud Mapping
  4. If your account access was revoked, reconnect using the Authorize button
  5. Once fixed, the next successful sync will clear the warning automatically

What Won't Happen

A failed sync does not disconnect your account or clear your saved folder mapping. Your setup stays exactly as you configured it — you'll just see a warning so you know to check it. This means you'll never have to redo your cloud storage setup because of a temporary sync issue.
