How to Check if Your Bank is Supported in LedgerSync

Overview

LedgerSync supports thousands of financial institutions for automated bank statement and transaction imports. You can easily check if your bank is supported and what features are available using the Mastercard Open Finance Supported Institutions directory.

How to Check Bank Support

Step 1: Access the Supported Institutions Directory

Visit the Mastercard Open Finance Supported Institutions page:

https://developer.mastercard.com/open-finance-us/documentation/financial-institution/supported-institutions/

Step 2: Search for Your Bank

  1. Locate the "Search institutions" box on the page
  2. Type in your bank's name (e.g., "Chase", "Wells Fargo", "Navy Federal")
  3. Press Enter or click Search

Step 3: Understanding the Support Indicators

Once you find your bank in the search results, look for green checkmarks in two important columns:

SA Column (Statement Aggregation)

  • Green checkmark ✓ = Bank statements are supported
  • This means you can automatically download and import PDF bank statements

TA Column (Transaction Aggregation)

  • Green checkmark ✓ = Transactions are supported
  • This means you can automatically sync individual transactions in real-time

Common Bank Support Examples

Here are some commonly asked about institutions and their support levels:

Fully Supported (Statements + Transactions)

  • Bank of America - ✓ SA | ✓ TA
  • Navy Federal Credit Union - ✓ SA | ✓ TA
  • Home Depot Cards (most cards) - ✓ SA | ✓ TA

Transaction-Only Support

  • Lowe's - ✓ TA (transactions only)

What This Means for You

Statement Support (SA)

When a bank has statement support, LedgerSync can:

  • Automatically download monthly bank statements
  • Convert statements to standardized formats
  • Import statement data into your accounting system
  • Store historical statements for record-keeping

Transaction Support (TA)

When a bank has transaction support, LedgerSync can:

  • Sync individual transactions in real-time
  • Update your books automatically as transactions post
  • Provide up-to-date account balances
  • Enable daily reconciliation

Both Support Types

Banks with both SA and TA support give you maximum flexibility:

  • Choose between statement-based or transaction-based workflows
  • Access both historical statements and real-time transaction data
  • Accommodate clients who prefer different accounting methods

Troubleshooting

If you can't find your bank:

  • Try searching with alternate names (e.g., "BofA" vs "Bank of America")
  • Search for the parent company name
  • Check if your bank uses a third-party processor
  • Contact LedgerSync support for assistance

No Checkmarks Showing

If your bank appears but has no checkmarks:

  • The bank may not currently support data aggregation
  • Contact LedgerSync support to inquire about future support
  • Consider alternative data import methods (manual upload, CSV import)
