In the step by step tutorial below we will walk you through the process of connecting to QuickBooks Online for the very first time.
What Happens After You Connect
Once the QuickBooks Online connection completes, LedgerSync automatically pulls in the client’s chart of accounts and immediately begins working — you don’t have to trigger anything manually:
- Your existing Global Rules run automatically against the new client. As soon as the QBO connection is established, LedgerSync evaluates the client’s transactions against your firm’s existing Global Rules and begins categorizing — a brand-new client inherits your rule library right away.
- The chart of accounts populates the CoA tab. The client’s QBO accounts are imported and shown on the Chart of Accounts (CoA) tab, where you can review the accounts and confirm your Global Category mappings.
If some transactions don’t categorize right away, the most common reason is that the client’s account isn’t yet mapped to a Global Category. Map the category and the rules apply to the backlog automatically. See Working with Global Rules and Global Categories.
