How to Manually Sync / Export Statements to Cloud Storage

How to Manually Sync / Export Statements to Cloud Storage

NotesPurpose: LedgerSync allows you to manually sync and export bank statements directly to your connected cloud storage at any time. This is useful when you need to push specific statements on demand, perform a bulk historical export, or migrate data during initial setup.

Supported Cloud Storage Platforms:

  • SmartVault
  • Google Drive
  • Dropbox
  • SharePoint
  • OneDrive
  • Box.com
  • Xero Drive

⚠️Prerequisite: You must have a cloud storage integration already set up in LedgerSync before following these steps. If you haven't connected cloud storage yet, go to Tools → Cloud Storage and authorize your preferred platform first.

How to Manually Sync Statements to Cloud Storage

Step 1 — Navigate to the Client

From the left-hand panel, select the client whose statements you want to export.

Step 2 — Go to the Statements Tab

Click on the Statements tab at the top of the client view.

Step 3 — Filter by Bank Account

Use the account filter to select the specific bank account whose statements you want to sync.

Step 4 — Select the Statements

  • To export all statements: Check the top-left checkbox to select all.
  • To export specific statements: Manually check individual statements from the list.

Step 5 — Sync to Cloud Storage

  • Click the "Sync With" dropdown.
  • Select your connected cloud storage platform (e.g., SmartVault, Google Drive, Dropbox).
  • LedgerSync will push the selected statements to your designated folder.

Automatic vs. Manual Sync — What's the Difference?

Automatic Sync

Manual Sync

When it runs

Nightly (auto)

On demand (you trigger it)

Best for

Ongoing, day-to-day syncing

Bulk exports, historical data, migrations

Requires action?

No

Yes — follow steps above

Statements included

New statements as they arrive

Whichever statements you select

💡Tip: For initial client setup or onboarding, use the manual sync to bulk-push all historical statements at once. After that, the nightly auto-sync will handle new statements going forward.

Cloud Folder Structure

By default, LedgerSync organizes synced statements into the following folder path:

Apps / LedgerSync / [Client Name] / [Bank Name] / [Account] / Statements

If you've set up client-specific folder mapping, statements will sync to your custom-designated folder instead. To configure this, go to: Client Actions  → Manage → Cloud Mapping

⚠️Dropbox Note: Due to Dropbox sandbox restrictions, all synced data must remain within the Apps/LedgerSync/ folder.

Bulk Export — Exporting All Historical Statements at Once

This is especially useful when onboarding a new client or recovering historical records.

  1. Go to the client's Statements tab
  2. Filter to the desired bank account
  3. Select the top-left checkbox to select ALL statements
  4. Click "Sync With" and choose your cloud storage
  5. LedgerSync will push all selected statements in bulk

Benefits of Bulk Export:

  • Download numerous of statements at once
  • Recover historical data quickly
  • Supports migration from other systems
