Can LedgerSync read payee names from checks?

Yes. For check images downloaded through a Premium Bank Connection, LedgerSync automatically reads the payee name from each check image. It also reads the amount, check number, bank name, check date and memo.

Always compare what was read with the check image itself. You can correct any detail and save it.

How do I see the payee in LedgerSync?

1. Connect the client's bank through a Premium Bank Connection. This is the connection type that downloads check and deposit images. When you add a bank, you can pick Checks as the information you want.
2. Go to Bank Connections and open the Checks tab.
3. Select the client's bank account.
4. Click the pencil icon next to a check. The Pay To field shows the payee name read from the check.
5. Correct anything that was read wrongly and click Update.

If the account you select is not on a Premium Bank Connection, the Checks tab tells you that the connection does not provide check images.

Can I see the check from a bank transaction?

Yes. On MasterCard and MX connections, a transaction that LedgerSync has matched to a check image shows a check icon in Bank Connections under Transactions. Click the icon to see the check image with its Pay To, Memo and other details. You can correct them there and click Update.
