Each accounting platform in the Rules Engine (QuickBooks, ZohoBooks and Manual) has its own area. At the bottom of that area's left menu are the buttons that sync a client's data from QuickBooks or ZohoBooks and reset a client's transactions. Each button works on the client you have selected.
Client users (the logins your clients use) cannot open the Rules Engine.
The buttons are:
The left menu, and the buttons with it, is hidden while you are in Initial Setup.
Before you use a button, select the client in the client list on the left side of the screen. You can find a client with the Search Clients box.
Select a client, then click Sync Quickbooks Data or Sync Zohobooks Data.
When the sync finishes, you'll see a message that the data has been synced successfully. If the sync fails, you'll see an error message instead.
If you click the sync button without a client selected, LedgerSync tells you to select a client first and offers to start Initial Setup.
The Manual area has no sync button.
Reset Transactions clears the categorization of the client's transactions that have not been synced and are not excluded or pending, and moves them back to For Review. It only covers transactions from Mastercard bank connections. It also removes the client's global category mappings for that platform.
After a reset, global rules stop applying to this client until you map its categories to global categories again.
What happens next depends on the platform:
Transactions already synced to your accounting software are not changed by a reset.
To clear the payee and category on just some transactions and run your rules on them again, use Clear & Reset. In the QuickBooks area, LedgerSync then re-applies the rules to those transactions automatically.
After you confirm, you'll see one of two messages:
While the rules are being re-applied, the page waits up to 5 minutes for them to finish. It stops waiting if you leave the page.
When the wait ends, the list reloads and you'll see one of these messages:
In the Manual area, Reset Manual Data deletes the selected client's Manual vendors and categories. LedgerSync asks you to confirm first. When it's done, you'll see "Manual vendors and categories have been reset".
Note: If you click either reset button without a client selected, you'll see "Please select a client first".
