Statement Dates Are Not Correct
Why Are My Statement Dates Incorrect?
Banks do not provide LedgerSync with the statement date directly. Instead, LedgerSync uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology to extract the date from the bank statement document.
OCR is accurate approximately 90% of the time, but it is not always 100% accurate. As a result, the statement date displayed in LedgerSync may occasionally be incorrect.
Common Reasons for Incorrect Statement Dates
- OCR extraction error — The date on the statement may be in an unusual format or position that the OCR engine cannot read correctly.
- PDF-protected statements — Some bank statements are PDF-protected, which prevents the standard code from extracting the dates properly.
