Working With American Express Connections:
We recently updated our connection options with American Express and have the ability to collect transactions and statements.
Connecting through Mastercard API:
This is the preferred method of connection now that American Express and renegotiated an agree with Mastercard to be able to access the financial data. To complete your connection, you will need the primary person to log in with their security credentials as well as the ONE TIME PASSWORD that will automatically be sent to the phone number added to their AMEX portal.
Once the connection is made, the transactions and statements will be available for both the parent and child accounts.
Connecting through Ledgersync Premium Accounts:
The Ledgersync team custom coded our own transaction and statement fetching to help resolve the issue initially caused by AMEX discontinuing access to their data through the API. The Ledgersync connection adds the subaccount name into the front of the bank memo to make it easier to distinguish which transactions are part of each card.
To export these transactions as a .QBO, .OFX, or .CSV file, you should first filter down to a specific sub account before downloading as a .QBO or .OFX. This will ensure you can import the data into your platform of choice and that transactions are only loaded into the account of choice.
