How to Connect LedgerSync Data to Accounting CS App

How to Connect LedgerSync Data to Accounting CS App

Overview

The Accounting CS App requires a connection to your LedgerSync account to retrieve bank transaction data. This article walks you through the connection process, verification steps, and troubleshooting common issues.

Prerequisites

Before connecting, ensure you have:

  • Active LedgerSync subscription - Your LedgerSync account must be active with bank connections configured
  • LedgerSync login credentials - Email and password for your LedgerSync account
  • Administrator access - You need admin permissions in the Accounting CS App

Connection Steps

Step 1: Access Settings

  1. Log into the Accounting CS App at acs.ledgersync.com/acs
  2. Click the Settings icon (gear icon, top right corner)
  3. The Settings panel opens on the right side

Step 2: Enter LedgerSync Credentials

In the Settings panel, you'll see the LedgerSync Integration section. Enter your credentials:

  • Email - The email address you use to log into LedgerSync
  • Password - Your LedgerSync password

Important: These are your LedgerSync credentials, NOT your Accounting CS credentials. The app needs access to your LedgerSync data to retrieve bank transactions.

Step 3: Save and Verify Connection

  1. Click Save Integration
  2. Wait for verification (typically 2-5 seconds)
  3. Look for the success indicator - green checkmark means connection successful

What Happens After Connection?

Once connected, the Accounting CS App can:

  • Retrieve client list - All clients from your LedgerSync account appear in the Client dropdown
  • Access bank accounts - Bank accounts for each client become available for selection
  • Pull transactions - Load transactions from any connected bank account within your date range
  • Sync automatically - New transactions sync as they appear in LedgerSync

Verifying the Connection

Test 1: Check Client List

  1. Go to Review & Export
  2. Click the Client dropdown
  3. You should see all clients from your LedgerSync account

Test 2: Load Transactions

  1. Select a client with active bank connections
  2. Select a bank account
  3. Choose a date range (try last 30 days)
  4. Click Load Transactions

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Error: "Invalid email or password"

Cause: Credentials don't match an active LedgerSync account

Solution:

  1. Verify you're using your LedgerSync credentials (not Accounting CS credentials)
  2. Try logging into LedgerSync directly at ledgersync.com to confirm credentials work
  3. Reset your LedgerSync password if needed
  4. Make sure your LedgerSync subscription is active

Error: "Connection timeout"

Solution: Check your internet connection, wait 1-2 minutes and try again

Error: "No clients found"

Solution: Log into LedgerSync directly and verify you have clients set up with bank connections

Security Notes

  • Encrypted storage - All credentials encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption
  • Secure transmission - API calls use TLS/SSL encryption
  • User-level authentication - Each user must provide their own LedgerSync credentials
