How to Connect LedgerSync Data to Accounting CS App

How to Connect LedgerSync Data to Accounting CS App

Overview

Before you can access your LedgerSync bank transaction data in the Accounting CS application, you need to connect your LedgerSync account to the Accounting CS app. This secure connection allows the application to retrieve client data, bank accounts, and transactions from your LedgerSync account.

This article explains how to establish and verify the connection between LedgerSync and the Accounting CS app.

Why This Connection is Required

The Accounting CS application needs access to:

  • Your LedgerSync client list - All clients configured in your LedgerSync account
  • Bank account data - Connected bank accounts for each client
  • Transaction data - Bank transactions for categorization and export

The connection is made using your LedgerSync login credentials (email and password). Once connected, the application can automatically retrieve this data for processing.

Step-by-Step Connection Process

Step 1: Access the Settings Page

In the Accounting CS application:

  1. Look for the Settings icon (gear icon) in the top-right corner of the application
  2. Click the Settings icon to open the Settings page

Step 2: Locate the LedgerSync Integration Section

On the Settings page, find the section labeled "LedgerSync Integration". This is where you'll enter your connection credentials.

Step 3: Enter Your LedgerSync Credentials

In the LedgerSync Integration section:

  1. LedgerSync Email: Enter the email address you use to log into LedgerSync
  2. LedgerSync Password: Enter your LedgerSync password

Important: These must be the same credentials you use to access your LedgerSync account at app.ledgersync.com.

Step 4: Save the Integration

  1. After entering both email and password, click the "Save Integration" button
  2. The system will attempt to connect to your LedgerSync account
  3. Wait 5-10 seconds for the verification process to complete

Step 5: Verify the Connection

After saving, you'll see one of two indicators:

✅ Green Checkmark - Connection successful! Your LedgerSync account is now connected, and you can access your client data.

❌ Red X - Connection failed. See troubleshooting steps below.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Red X Appears - Connection Failed

If you see a red X instead of a green checkmark, try these solutions:

1. Verify Your Credentials

  • Double-check your email address for typos
  • Verify your password is correct
  • Try logging into LedgerSync directly at app.ledgersync.com to confirm your credentials work

2. Check Your LedgerSync Account Status

  • Ensure your LedgerSync subscription is active
  • Confirm your account hasn't been suspended
  • Verify you have at least one client set up in LedgerSync

3. Password Reset (if needed)

  • If you've forgotten your password, reset it in LedgerSync first
  • Go to app.ledgersync.com and click "Forgot Password"
  • After resetting, use your new password in the Accounting CS app

4. Browser Cache Issues

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Close and reopen your browser
  • Try again

No Clients Showing After Connection

If the connection shows a green checkmark but no clients appear:

  • Wait 30-60 seconds and refresh the page - the initial sync can take a moment
  • Verify you have clients set up in your LedgerSync account
  • Check that clients have bank accounts connected in LedgerSync
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration

Connection Keeps Failing

If you've tried all the above steps and still can't connect:

  • Contact LedgerSync support at support@ledgersync.com
  • Include your LedgerSync account email in your message
  • Describe the error you're seeing (red X, no clients, etc.)

Security Notes

Credential Storage:

  • Your LedgerSync credentials are encrypted and stored securely
  • Only you and authorized administrators can access this integration
  • The Accounting CS app uses these credentials only to fetch data from LedgerSync

Best Practices:

  • Use a strong, unique password for your LedgerSync account
  • Don't share your LedgerSync credentials with unauthorized users
  • If you change your LedgerSync password, update it in the Accounting CS app immediately

What Happens After Connection

Once your LedgerSync account is successfully connected:

  1. Your client list will appear in the Client dropdown on the Review page
  2. Bank accounts for each client will be available for selection
  3. You can begin loading and reviewing transactions
  4. The connection remains active until you disconnect it or change your LedgerSync password
