Some clients won’t add a bank connection unless the request comes directly from their accountant or bookkeeper. LedgerSync lets you copy bank connection and reconnection links and send them from your own firm’s email address — so the client sees a message from someone they trust.
Use Case 1 — Inviting a New Client to Add Their Bank
When adding a new client in LedgerSync, click Copy Invitation Email
LedgerSync saves the client record and copies the invitation text (with the secure bank connection link) to your clipboard
Paste the text into your firm’s email and customize as needed
Send from your email address — the message comes from your domain, not from ledgersync.com
Use Case 2 — Fixing a Broken Bank Connection
For any broken bank connection:
Navigate to the client’s Bank Summary page
Find the broken bank connection and click Generate Bank Fix URL
LedgerSync generates a secure reconnection link for that specific bank
Copy the link (along with the suggested email text if provided) and paste it into your firm’s email
Send to the client from your email address
Bank Fix URL Expiration: Bank Fix URLs are valid for 6 days from the time they are generated. After 6 days, the link expires and a new one must be generated. Do not send a link that was generated more than a few days ago.
Use Case 3 — Sending a Bank-Specific Invite from Your Email
If you want to invite a client to connect a specific bank (rather than a general invitation):
Go to Client Actions > Communication Center
Select Reconnect and Add New Banks
Choose the client and the specific bank
Select the message template
Use the Copy option to copy the bank-specific link to your clipboard
Paste into your email and send from your firm’s address
Why Send from Your Email?
Clients recognize your firm’s email address and are more likely to open and act on the message
It avoids messages being marked as spam or deleted because they come from an unfamiliar sender
You maintain your firm’s professional relationship and branding throughout the process
